Transport and accommodation
Ferry, flights, bivouac, meals: what is included in your entry and what to plan for.
To plan
Flights
- The return flight from Dakar is not included.
- You are free to book with the airline of your choice (approx. €500 Dakar / France).
Accommodation and meals
- Scrutineering: accommodation of your choice, not included.
- Outbound ferry: self-service meals included up to €100.
- Bivouacs with showers and toilets; meals on presentation of your wristband.
- Dakar: the organisers offer an accommodation package.
Your vehicle on board
- Vehicles are measured at scrutineering: any difference with the declared dimensions is charged.
- Return Dakar / Europe: bikes travel in or on their team’s support vehicles (Motul Xtreme Rider: organisers’ vehicles, bring straps).
- Boarding by a team member at the stated times; vehicles emptied of all valuables.
- Carrying fuel is strictly forbidden (customs checks and fines).
- Third-party cover ends when the vehicle is handed over at the port: take out additional insurance.
To bring to the bivouac
Tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, head torch, toilet paper, alarm clock… The wristband and ID card handed out at scrutineering give access to meals, mineral water, rations and the prize-giving at Lac Rose.
